3 Celtic Youngsters To Look Out For In 2020

It is not easy when it comes to breaking through, and making it in the Celtic. There are a lot of top players who are doing the exact same thing, trying to earn the same spots and goals they each set out to achieve. James Forrest and Callum McGregor are the most recognisable from the first team. Both these men are by far the most successful academy graduates the club has seen. Ryan Christie, meanwhile, had to impress the development squad in his early days.

3 Celtic Youngsters That You Should Know in 2020

Coming up, who will be the next ones to take after the footsteps of those mentioned before this? Who are the 3 Celtic youngsters to look out for in 2020?

Scott Robertson

The name of young Scot Robertson might still be ringing fresh in the minds of many after his impressive debut against Cluj a few weeks ago.

The young midfielder displayed another level of composure in spite of the heated battle, a stable touch on the ball, and speed in turn as he was trying to drag the club forward when he could. The night when he was up against a Europa League that needed to win badly, he showed no sign of falling behind and indeed, didn’t look out of place.

Niel Lennon has described his young man’s debut as terrific and was utterly delighted by his performance.

Celtic had opened up the year with a Scottish Cup tie at Patrick Thistle, whilst matches against Kilmarnock, Ross County, and St Johnstone followed suit. Lennon is going to show courage by throwing a youngster like Robertson himself, into the field given how tight the race will be. Supporters are eager to see Robertson in action, given the tough position the competition is in now. It is difficult to shake how good he looked in Romania.

Karamoko Dembele

Perhaps the hype of Karamoko Dembele was given a reality check when they went up against Cluj in the second half as fresh legs when he failed to put on a show.

It was obvious that Karamoko easily brushed off the ball. He didn’t get a chance to show his footwork skills and the opponent had a tight defence against him when he got the ball.

In spite of that, he continued to strive at a youth level, making a fine appearance later on against Hearts back in May. He went over Aaron Hickey and almost managed a goal. It would be a huge surprise if he is not added into his two appearances in 2020.

He still managed to catch the eye both at the international and club level in the youth ranks (Scottish Sun). Taking into account how long he seems to have been around, and it is easy to forget he’s only 17. Perhaps it is a little early to put him out on a loan just yet.

It would be nice to see him getting the odd chances to be with the first team within another few months. It will be interesting to see how he progresses in the next few months while his development is getting serious now. Without a doubt, he is certainly one to watch.

Luca Connell

The team still has no idea when he was first signed. But when he arrived, he was down with the development squad as opposed to being a genuine contender for first-team games.

Conell has been training with the first-team regularly in any case and is equipped with the experience of being in the international set-up at senior level with Ireland too. A player who was also right in the thick of the Betfred Cup celebrations also proves he’s certainly in and around the squad these days.

However, he wasn’t given a single shot in a day of the match in his squad this season. He might be at a risky situation, but even the Betfred Cup spot has eluded him. He wasn’t included in the makeshift squad in Cluj either when Lennon looked to shake things up.

It is clear Celtic rated him. It was reported by the club that he was hugely impressed by him, with his progress since his summer arrival. He does have a wee bit of experience, considering he has played regularly with Bolton in the second half of last season.

His problem was similar to Robertson’s. The talent ahead of him is show-stopping. Scott Brown, Callum Mc Gregor, and Olivier Ntcham will not be giving up their places any time soon. However, with Connell being the most experienced midfielder, it will be interesting to see whether he can put up a challenge for a spot in 2020.

The season in 2020 is expected to be more exciting than before, so as the bets that will be held throughout the plays. With online gambling platforms such as Mega888 or 918Kiss, it will be like a walk in the park.
